Slip Resistant Safety Footwear

Nearly a third of all major injuries at the workplace are caused by slips and trips. Choosing the correct safety footwear can play an important part in preventing slips. Totectors have developed 3 new ranges with slip resistance as an integral design factor.

For the outdoors rough terrain, Totectors Wilkins range has a chunky sole design with deep groves for better grip and shallow cleats and break lines to disperse debris easily so that performance is not affected.

For the smoother indoors environment, liquid spills are a big problem. Totectors Denton and Charles range sole designs have been developed specifically with a lot of aqua channels for easy liquid dispersal so that when walking on wet floors the shoe remains in contact with the ground. Without this the person would actually be walking on a very thin film of liquid increasing the chances of slips.

In addition, the Denton range has shallow cleats to prevent debris getting in and closing off the channels and also a proper ladder grip for standing on the ladder rungs and a ladder stop that would prevent the foot sliding off completely if they go off balance.

There are many factors that influence our choice of safety footwear, however, in addition to the slip resistance features, be sure not to overlook the primary safety features and comfort factors such as support, flexibility, weight, shock absorption, insulation, breath-ability, and waterproofing technologies like OutDry.
